Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu spoke about the Iraqi Kurdistan Regional Government President Masoud Barzani who will leave his post on November 1, said: "Barzani has made a mistake to extend the term of his office. He makes decisions about his own future."

According to the news of Rudaw, Barzani sent a letter to the parliamentary today said KRG Parliament Vice President Cafer Ibrahim Eminki.

Barzani's letter to the parliament said it proposes presidential powers to be distributed between the parliament and the KRG government.

Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, who is in Oman's capital city of Muscat, to make official contacts, said:

"In recent weeks, many news published on the Barzani that he will leave the duty and resign. This information also came from different countries. Likewise, it came from authorities in northern Iraq, but we have not seen anything concrete so far. Indeed, Barzani entered into this mistake to extend his presidency. We know that. In fact, he did not want to bring electoral legislature to the parliament a long time because the other parties wanted to discuss the presidential term. But he never wanted it. Maybe he thought he could not do it after such a vital mistake. Now it is not right to talk about hypotheses. It is not true that we interfere in their interior. But he made a serious mistake and broke up the Kurds there. The Kurdish brothers in Iraq were the ones who suffered the most from this. We said the referendum is a mistake. Neither inside nor outside supported him, but Barzani listened to his own advisors. Barzani gives his own decision about his future."
