Claims about demolish team steals household goods of victim people

MARDIN - Victim families in Nusaybin, district of Mardin whose houses are damaged due to conflicts, claimed that their household goods have been stolen by demolish team during the destruction of buildings.

Residents of squares in Nusaybin which curfew still continue, claimed that some of their household goods are stolen by demolish team during the destruction of damaged contractions. They event took steal moments shot with their mobile phones.

Curfew in Nusaybin which announced on March 14, has been removed partly on July 25. Life became normal in Yeni Turan, Yeşil Kent, Mor Yakup, 8 Mart, Gırnavas, Devrim, Selahaddin Eyyubi Çatalözü, İpek Yolu and Barış squares, in Abdulkadir Paşa, Fırat, Dicle, Yenişehir, Zeynel Abidin ve Kışla squares demolish work continue on damaged building which all those squares are wired.

Some families from Zeynel Abidin Square went to see the situation of their houses with the permission of district governorship. They were shocked after noticed their household goods are stolen.

In video images shared with ILKHA, it is seen some people which is clear they are from demolish team due to the uniform they wore, loading some goods from houses.

A resident named Ö.A from Zeynel Abidin Square, drew attention to the raise of stealing and looting event within the demolish work and added, “Many citizens who applied to district governorship to carry their household goods have seen that their goods are stolen or looted after they went to their houses. Especially valued and lightweight goods are stolen. Also with images took from outside of wire, it is seen that demolish team steals goods from houses. Because it is a forbidden zone, not everyone can enter. We also took special permit to go to our own house. Authorities must take precaution and relief victimizations.”


Curfew announced in the district for Yeni Turan, Yeşil Kent, Mor Yakup, 8 Mart, Gırnavas, Devrim, Selahaddin Eyyubi, Çatalözü, İpekyolu and Barış squares, has been removed partly on July 25. Curfew still continue on Abdulkadir Paşa, Fırat, Dicle, Yenişehir, Zeynel Abidin and Kışla squares.
