Death toll rises to 100 in Iraq demonstrations

The death toll has risen to 100 in demonstrations that have continued since October 1 in Iraq.

The number of wounded people in the demonstrations held in many provinces, especially in the capital Baghdad, is nearly 2,000

There are fife-threatening people were among the injured, reports said.

People do reportedly not take the injured to state hospitals for fear of arrest, so the death toll could rise.

Iraq has been the scene of anti-government demonstrations since October 1, protesting against "unemployment, corruption, and lack of public service."

The curfew was lifted in Baghdad, as well as in the cities of Zikar (Nasiriyya), Meysan (Amara) and Babylon (Hile) as of Saturday morning.
