Erdoğan speaks on the phone with Ursula von der Leyen
Turkish President Erdoğan had a phone call with the new president of the EU Commission Ursula von der Leyen.
On her first day in office, Erdoğan spoke to Ursula von der Leyen on the phone at her request.
According to Turkish Presidential office, the two exchanged views on Turkey’s accession to the EU, March 18, 2016 agreement between the sides regarding support to the Syrians in Turkey, and voluntary, safe and dignified return of Syrians to the safe zone being established by Turkish administration in northern Syria.
