Erdoğan: Turkey, Angola have significant cooperation opportunities especially in energy

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a joint press conference with President João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço of Angola.

“I am highly pleased to be among you on the occasion of the first Presidential visit from Turkey to Angola,” President Erdoğan said.

“I believe our historic visits will advance our bilateral relations in all areas”

Pointing to the reciprocal visits between Turkey and Angola within a short period of 3 months, Erdoğan said: “I believe our historic visits will advance our bilateral relations in all areas.”

“We will continue to stand with the Angolan authorities in the fight against terror. I believe our two countries have significant cooperation opportunities especially in energy,” Erdoğan said.

Voicing his wish to enhance cooperation in education and culture, Erdoğan said: “We believe the steps we will take regarding the visa issue will contribute to improving our social and tourism cooperation.”

“Turkey’s activities in the continent of Africa are known in full transparency by everyone. Through our 43 embassies across the continent, we are improving our relations with African countries on the basis of mutual respect, solidarity and win-win. We are deepening our cooperation with the African Union, of which we are a strategic partner, with a medium- and long-term perspective and in a manner that will contribute to enhancing peace stability and prosperity in the entire continent,” Erdoğan said.
