EUROPOL warns: Fresh cyber-attack likely 'more sophisticated' than WannaCry

EUROPOL President Rob Wainwright has warned that the cyber-attacks may continue to increase.

Rob Wainwright, president of the European police organization EUROPOL, has also warned that the recent global cyber-attack, in a statement to the public, could lead to increased cyber-attacks, criticizing international organizations for neglecting security measures.

Rob Wainwright, who said that many international companies have neglected access security, said that “WannaCry” virus, which locked access to global scale a month and a half ago, is a test of how large companies could be subjected to blackmail, “It is possible to prevent ‘WannaCry’. They should overcome the security deficiencies,” he added.

Wainwright said that the Cyber-attacks are a warning to large corporations to do homework and that they are worried about the further increase of cyber aggression.

The virus used for the last attack wants the users to pay $ 300 virtual currency “Bitcoin” within three days for re-opening the computers and threatening to delete the files if not paying.
