Berat Albayrak, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, said that a new process has started with the bid for Wind Energy Renewable Energy Resource Areas.

Energy and Natural Resources Minister Berat Albayrak made a statement after the Wind Energy Renewable Energy Resource Areas (YEKA) bid.

Albayrak thanked everyone who passed through this successful tender process, said that they would carry this process forward.

“We have launched a new era with a tender process that is totally open, transparent and highly competitive with the participation of 8 of the top 10 wind farmers in the world today. One of the most important steps of which is to make, the cost of buying was 10.3 dollars/cents per kilowatt-hour, with a historic record, is now at a world record price, reduced to 3.48 dollar/cents per kilowatt-hour, and I am proud of it.”

Referring to this tenderer being Turkiye's energy base and being a very important step not only in terms of its energy costs but also in terms of its technologies, Albayrak said:

"Just as it is on the solar, today it is a very important point in the wind trade. With 65 percent of the indigenousness and 10 percent of the minimum R&D investment, now with a breakdown of 8,000 odd industrial parts in a wind turbine, which 65% will be produced in Turkiye, Turkiye has stepped forward as a big technology production base, as much as the industry and its subsidiary industry. In this regard, it is also invested in a total of more than one billion dollars with the investment of the wind turbine which will be made in our 12 cities.
