Explosion in ammunition in Ukraine: 24 thousand people evacuated
Due to the explosion at a military ammunition depot in Kalynivka town in Ukraine 24 thousand people were evacuated.
Ammunition depot exploded in Klaynivk town, 270 km away from Ukraine's capital Kiev, in Vynnytsy state. It was stated that one person was injured according to the first determinations because of the explosion and 24 thousand people were evacuated.
It was reported that the electricity was cut off and the natural gas vents were closed. Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman stated that an investigation launched and the blast caused from “external factors”.
Spokesman of the Security Service of Ukraine Olena Gitlyansk said that the explosion was the result of a sabotage without giving more information about the explosion.
President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko urged an emergency meeting with the country’s top brass over the incident.
A similar incident took place in March in a military depot in the east of Ukraine, the explosion lasted for hours, and more than 20 thousand people were evacuated.
