Haramain Sharifain to remain open during Ramadan for visitors and pilgrims

Sheikh Abdul Rahman Al Sudais, the President for the Affairs of the Holy Mosques, announced the Ramadan plans for this year.

New measures were introduced to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic in the Holy Mosques during the sacred month.

Accordingly, the usual Prayer Rakats of Taraweeh and Tahajjud which is 20 +3 was reduced to 10+3.

The visitors will not be allowed to touch the Kaaba, and the usual separation will remain in place.

Iftar spreads will be suspended, instead, individual distribution will be conducted.

I’tikaf, an Islamic practice consisting of a period of staying in a mosque for a certain number of days, devoting oneself to ibadah during these days, and staying away from worldly affairs, will remain suspended in the last 10 days this year as well.

Zamzam water supply will remain suspended and will be supplied individually through personnel and bottles.
