HUDA PAR Deputy Chairman Hüseyin Yılmaz evaluates results of referendum
HUDA PAR Deputy Chairman Hüseyin Yılmaz, made statement related to the referendum results to the local and foreign journalists following the referendum in 'Referendum 2017 Press Center'.
Yılmaz said, "There will be no change after this process. The referendum has went how the majority was expected. In this election, the society was unnecessarily polarized. What to be done after this hour is that to calm this polarization and to normalize life by removing this tension. Tomorrow we will use the same elevator again, breathing the same air. So this tension is left behind. When we look at the election atmosphere, the fact that there is no serious incident shows that the people are discreet."
Yılmaz stated pointed out that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan gathered the same vote in the previous Presidential referendum and added, "Alliance with the MHP did not benefit at all. In fact, the rhetoric that the MHP uses to persuade its base has propelled the Kurdish electorate to HDP in the region. Despite this, the number of 'yes' votes has increased steadily in the region despite as it has fallen to 'no' even in Istanbul. This underlines that the Kurdish electorate still needs to solve the Kurdish issue through civilian politics. At this point, it should not be ignored that HUDA PAR also has the effect of the saying 'yes, but not enough' on the region. Currently, HUDA PAR is a key party. After that, the government should listen more."
