President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan went to China to attend the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation to be held in Beijing and to hold talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping.

President Erdoğan, who organized a press conference in Ankara Esenboğa Airport before his move, explained the visit and the agenda.

President Erdogan said that he will hold bilateral talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping and other leaders attending the summit, as well as participation in the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation ' to be held on May 14-15. He said that these negotiations will be held in an opinion exchange on bilateral, regional and global issues.

President Erdoğan announced that after his contacts in China, he will travel to Washington upon the invitation of President of the United States (US) Donald Trump and will evaluate bilateral relations with US President Trump and developments in the region and the world.

Erdoğan, referring to the USA's aid to the YPG, said, “We have sent a pioneer team to the United States, and our delegation has returned. Now we will make these negotiations at the highest level. I have said that I do not pay much attention to all the expressions and approaches in the media, and the US is still in transition, so we have to be much more sensitive here. There is weapon aid to the YPG. This is something that contradicts our strategic relationship, we will express it. It is not an ideal policy to destroy a terrorist organization with another terrorist organization.”

“I think the visit will be a breaking point”

Erdoğan spoke as follows: “We give the most effective struggle against Daesh in the region, we do not stop. I said before, we had an operation in Iraq, in Sinjar and Telafer, but we said we can come here suddenly one night wherever we see the same. There is no threat to the US and Russia in this region. The threatening is towards us, so if the treat is to us then what's that to others? I think this visit will be a breaking point.” (ILKHA)
