Speaking at a meeting of the Extraordinary Executive Committee of the Foreign Affairs Ministers of the Islamic Cooperation Organization (OIC) gathered in Istanbul, Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu stated that the Palestinians should be supported by actions rather than just words.

The Islamic Cooperation Organization, gathered in Istanbul on the invitation of Turkiye to address the latest developments in the Masjid al-Aqsa, condemned the attitude of the zionist occupiers on Al-Haram Al-Sharif and on the Palestinians.

Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu, who chaired the meeting of the Foreign Ministers' Executive Committee, said that the Palestinian people's demonstration in the Al-Haram Al-Sharif was above of all admiration, “Eventually, israel took a step towards sanity.”

Çavuşoğlu recalled that the occupier zionist gangs had closed the Masjid al-Aqsa for three days and that no Adhan had been read, and when it was opened, barriers were set up in front of the Muslims and excessive force was used against Muslims.

"The Palestinian people's appreciation for 14 days is above all discretion,” said Çavuşoğlu, and continued as:

"In the end, israel took a step towards sanity. Our desire is for Israel to take an attitude of Muslims fully taking into account the sensitivities of Jerusalem and the Al-Haram Al-Sharif from now on. We find the joint struggle of the Palestinian people for the Al-Haram Al-Sharif as important for the future as well. The gathering of our Palestinian brothers in this struggle is crucial in terms of internal consensus.”

Repeating the call of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Çavuşoğlu said, "All of our brothers who have the opportunity to visit Jerusalem, should visit there and embrace our Palestinian brothers.”

Çavuşoğlu, who draws attention to the fact that the Muslims are separated and that made the enemies of Islam happy, says: “Why do we fall into divisions? Why can we not give enough support to our brothers or support them? We must never forget: falling apart will make the enemies of Islamic happy. We must continue our struggle more effectively on international platforms. The two-state solution framework is essential. It is a legal obligation till they respect the sanctity and historical status of Jerusalem and Al-Haram Al-Sharif.”

Çavuşoğlu, who was in the call to support Palestinians, said: “Let us support millions of Palestinians with out actions who live under Israeli occupation or have to flee to other countries, not just with words. Here we invite everybody who wants to stop this injustice to recognize the Palestinian State. The Palestinian State with sovereignty, independence, and geographical unity must put into practice in the shortest time.”

Çavuşoğlu finally said that they will protect Al-Haram Al-Sharif and Jerusalem always, “We will continue to be with our Palestinian brothers in this fight.”
