"Symposium of the Middle East, cradle of civilization and Şanlıurfa" was held for two days in Turkiye’s Şanlıurfa.

Tuna stated that there is no other way than to analyze the history correctly and to be able to appreciate today and build tomorrow, said that the Symposium of the Middle East, cradle of civilization and Şanlıurfa is important for the future as far as history is concerned, especially when it is evaluated in the context of the "Oriental Issue" of the West.

Tuna, “The Middle East is a name before anything else given by the West that puts itself in the center of the world. It is of course inevitable that the West, which gives this name, plans on this region. The West made plans and calculations on these lands for energy sources, mainly oil. The fact that it located in Asia and Europe connection, Asia and Africa, the Black Sea, the Mediterranean and the Indian Ocean, became reason for colonial states to make plans on Middle East.”

With the withdrawal of the Ottoman Empire from the Middle East, Tuna stated that blood and tears were not stopped in the region, he continued as follows:

“Economic, political and religious imperialism has begun to enter the Middle East as the Ottoman Empire weakened and began to withdraw from the Middle East. Despite the victory of Kut Amare in the First World War, unfortunately we could not stop of the dark plan and projects in this region.
