Milk production in Turkey rises by 1.6% in September

The amount of collected cow's milk in September increased by 1.6% when compared to the same month of the previous year, Turkish Statistical Institute in a statement on Thursday.

In January-September period increased by 2.1% when compared to the same period of the previous year.

In September, the average fat rate of cow's milk collected by integrated dairies was 3.4%, the average rate of protein was 3.2%.

In September, drinking milk production by integrated dairies decreased by 6% and became 121 thousand 220 tons when compared to the same month of the previous year. In the January-September period, drinking milk production decreased by 6.2% and became 1 million 126 thousand 425 tons when compared to the same period of the previous year.

In September, yoghurt production by integrated dairies decreased by 9.1% and became 100 thousand 431 tons when compared to the same month of the previous year. In the January-September period, increased by 1.4% and became 855 thousand 92 tons when compared to the same period of the previous year.

In September, while drink made of yoghurt (ayran) production increasing by 28.9%, butter production increasing by 27.4% and skimmed milk powder production increasing by 7.2%, cream production decreased by 0.7%, cheese production from cow's milk decreased by 7.5%, whole milk powder production decreased by 9.6%, and mixed milk cheese (cheese production obtained from which includes sheep, goat, buffalo and mixed milk) production decreased by 30.8%, when compared to the same month of the previous year.

According to the January-September period of the previous year, while skimmed milk powder production increasing by 22.5%, drink made of yoghurt (ayran) production increasing by 16.9%, whole milk powder production increasing by 12.6%, cream production increasing by 5.5%, mixed milk cheese (Cheese production obtained from which includes sheep, goat, buffalo and mixed milk) production increasing by 4.6% and butter production increasing by 1.1%, cheese production from cow's milk decreased by 0.02%.
