The Moroccan Parliament has approved the granting of confidence to the government of Aziz Akhannouch

The new government obtain the support of 213 deputies in the Moroccan parliament, and only 64 deputies opposed, while one representative abstained from voting.

The country’s new Prime Ministry Akhannouch presented the government’s program to Parliament in a plenary session, as required by Article 88 of the Moroccan Constitution, according to local media outlets.

Akhannouch’s party placed first in the general elections, winning 102 seats of the 395 seats.

He was appointed as Prime Minister by King Mohammed VI, succeeding Saadeddine Othmani, and was tasked by the King last month to form a new government, a task he succeeded in doing, announcing the formation of an official government alongside the PAM and Istiqlal parties on September 12.
