Number of Syrian refugees reached 5 million: UN
UN High Commissioner for Refugees announced that the number of Syrians who have fled from their country until the present day of the Syrian civil war has exceeded 5 million.
According to the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, the number of Syrian refugees in Turkiye, Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq and Egypt has reached 5 million due to civil war outbreaks 6 years ago in Syria.
According to the UN High Commissioner for Refugees and the authorized institutions of Turkiye, the number of Syrian refugees remained at 4.8 million in 2016. While the number of refugees increased at the beginning of this year, only 488 thousand 531 people were living in the refugee camp.
