Preparations of 3rd Astana meetings are under way
While the preparatory continues before talks of the third round of the Astana meetings, alongside Turkiye, Iran, Russia and the United States, as well as the Jordanian delegation were reportedly scheduled to attend the meeting as observers.
Preliminary talks are continuing for the meeting on the subject of Syria, which will be held as 3rd in Kazakhstan's capital city Astana. Turkiye, Iran, Russia and the United States continue to work on the agenda of the delegation meeting.
The preliminary talks between the delegations of the Syrian regime, Russia, Iran and the US that started yesterday are continuing today with the participation of the Turkish delegation and dissidents. The Jordanian delegation will attend the meeting as an observer while the preliminary talks are expected to begin with the completion of the meeting.
The first Astana meeting was held on 23-24 January, under the leadership of Turkiye and Russia. The delegations gathered on the agenda of strengthening the ceasefire announced on December 30th as guarantors of the two countries agreed on the establishment of a tripartite mechanism in which Iran is included to monitor the firefight.
Technical discussions on the tripartite mechanism were held at the 2nd meeting on February 6th. (ILKHA)
