Rough road obstruct 'disabled sisters' to go school

Two of the disabled siblings in Batman's Kozluk district suffered from continuing infrastructure work.

Two sisters, Elif 17 and Hatice 14, members of Akboğa family who are innately disabled in Batman's Kozluk district in Yamaçlı Neighborhood, have been victimized due to the ongoing deterioration of infrastructure and rough roads.

Trying to go to her school on the rough roads on her wheelchair, Elif Akboğa, a student of Imam-Hatip High School, suffering because of the roads with the infrastructure work which experiencing difficulties in commuting to school.

Father Abdullah Akboğa has found a vehicle for her daughters who cannot go to their schools on a wheelchair on a full mud road because of rains. Father of sisters asks for a comfortable road for her daughters to go to school.

Telling to ILKHA's correspondent, Father Akboğa describing where they live and victimization in recent years. He also has underlined many regulations have been made in law about protecting the rights of disabled people. Father of sisters also stated that the experienced victimization is the disrespect the rights of the disabled.

Despite reporting to the municipalities and authorities several times about their grievance father Akboğa said that their victimization has not been eased and asked: "Are we not citizens? Do we not deserve services?"
