Six million root cannabis seized in Diyarbakır
Turkish security forces seized 6 million 56 thousand 586 root cannabis during an operation carried out in the rural Lice and Hazro districts of Diyarbakır.
Releasing a statement regarding the operation, Diyarbakır Governorate Office said 6 million 56 thousand 586 root cannabis seized during an operation launched by Provincial Gendarmerie Command against members of the separatist terror organization.
"530 kg of cannabis in bags hidden among bushes and large jerry-cans buried in the soil, a total of 6 million 56 thousand 586 root cannabis plants in 41 separate points and 4 thousand 750 meters long water hose/pipe, one water engine and one regulator were seized in the fields," the statement read.
The governorate office stated that the cannabis plants seized in Lice and Hazro districts of Diyarbakır have been the largest amount captured in a single operation throughout the country in recent years.
The statement said that 24 persons were searched on while a person with a "wanted" record was arrested and detained on the charge of theft.
