President of the Religious Affairs Prof. Dr. Mehmet Görmez made a statement regarding the chemical attack carried out by Syrian regime on Idlib, stated that he condemned the massacre and expressed condolences to all Muslims.

Görmez said, “I strongly condemn the massacre in Idlib, my condolences to all the Muslims whose hearts are burning in the face of the brutality of their brothers, who share the suffering of their brothers and sisters and pray for them. There can be no explanation in front of humanity or on the level of Lord, raining chemical bombs on people without distinguishing them from men and women, elder and children; poisoning the land, air and water, and spoil the future generations.”

Those who do devilish will get punished in this world and in the hereafter said Görmez and added, “Of course this war will come to an end. Justice will reign again in the tear geography. Those who do devilish and their supporters will get punished in this world and in the hereafter. Until then, we have to strive for peace and compassion without losing our strength and courage. To hear the cry of people who are out of patience, whose lands are devastated, whose hearts are exhausted.”

At the end of his statement, Görmez addressed to Muslims and said, "O Muslims, the Islamic ummah! Do not get accustomed to the attacks and be apathetic. Do not forget your brotherhood, take your side as a single heart to the oppressed people. Leaders of Islamic countries, scholars, human rights defenders! Mobilize all your material and spiritual powers to stop this dark and lawless war! Stop this immodestly raid that crush the innocent, the mothers, and the children! Remember, this is a burden at our backs.”
