TESSEP: Europe is tolerant of immorality, but despot to Muslims!

Stating that burqa and niqab ban in the Netherlands, is a shackle that strikes at freedom of belief, thought and expression, TESSEP said Europe is tolerant of any kind of immorality and ugliness but despotic towards Muslims.

Ban on veils and burqas came into force in the Netherlands on Thursday and those who violate the so-called ban will be fined 150 euros.

Releasing a statement over the ban in the Netherlands, the headquarters of the Hijab Mobilization Platform [TESSEP] stressed that the ban on burqa and face covering is against the freedom of belief, thought and expression.

In its statement, TESSEP stated that Europe, which has a very tolerant, libertarian and embracing attitude towards all kinds of ugliness and insolence, has again reemerged its hypocrisy with its prohibitive despot attitude towards faiths when it comes to Islam and Muslims.

TESSEP condemned the ban and stated that these prohibitions, which were a form of harassment fire on the Muslim woman's hijab, should be lifted immediately.

"Rights abuses against Muslims will spread across Europe if bans are not lifted"

The statement highlighted that the hijab is the red line of the Ummah. "Today, Europe knows perfectly well that the Muslim woman and the hijab, which will never be negotiated, are the red line of the Ummah."

"We believe that if these bans are not lifted and the reactions remain rickety, the existing restrictions and rights violations will spread in Europe. It should be considered among the possibilities to take the Islamophobia wind behind it and turn it into a tsunami," the statement read.

"Muslim woman being reduced to criminal status"

The Muslim woman has been reduced to a criminal position in Europe by this ban, the statement said.

"Furthermore, with this ban, Muslim women in veiled will be seen as potential criminals wherever they are seen in the streets of the Netherlands, in hospitals, in schools, on public transport."

The statement read that verbal and actual attacks will also be inevitable with the ban. "This ban is a painful bill that will never be accepted for human freedom, which is one of the most basic needs, other than a fine of 150 euros."

"The West, which constantly underlines women's rights, is, of course, calculating the psychology of a woman and the trauma that her family can experience thanks to this prohibition and its possible consequences. But same Europe is not ashamed to play the double standards game again when it comes to the woman of Islam."
