The orphanage, where 270 orphans live, needs urgent help
The orphanage, which hosts for 270 orphans in Garissa, Kenya, needs urgent help.
Located in the eastern part of the African continent, about 6 thousand kilometers far from Turkey, the Republic of Kenya has a population of close to 50 million people.
The children were gladdened by the Europe Orphan Hand, an international humanitarian organization, which distributed shoes, clothing, toys, and candy to the children of needy families after their assistance in the rural and low-income areas of the country's Garissa city.
Volunteers of Orphan Hand Organization, who provide information about their charity work, visited the Najah orphanage in Garissa, handing out toys to orphaned children and playing with them.
Stating that the orphanage where 270 orphans are living has many needs, especially food, while charity organization volunteers called on Muslims in Europe and Turkey to provide help.
Eighteen people working in the orphanage have not received a salary for months, 270 orphans have many needs, especially food, said the orphanage official Abdullah Muhammad, called on benefactors for emergency help.
"There is no one who is always providing support to our orphanage. We receive some help from Qatar but it is also inadequate and it delays," Muhammad said.
Saying that there are orphaned children from different regions in the orphanage, Abdullah Muhammad said orphans in the orphanage try to survive with the help of philanthropists.
"As the aid to our children from Qatar is delayed, the food they need is running out. We are constantly borrowing from a shop for orphanages, but because debts have accumulated, the shop no longer meets our food needs and our food warehouse is empty. Our orphanage urgently needs food in particular," he said.
