Şeyhmus Alpsoy, who was arrested in the repeating operations in 1990s and early 2000s on the Islamic structures and the people, has been having a hard time due to the colon cancer disease in the prison he has been in for 17 years.

Şeyhmus Alpsoy's disease is advancing said Av. Hasan Bozdaş and paid attention to the negligence of the prison administration when he made statements to ILKHA.

Bozdaş stated that Alpsoy repeatedly demanded for the hospital but rejected by the prison administration, Bozdas said his client’s execution should of be stopped and the treatment should be continued in a full-fledged hospital.

"Alpsoy's disease is now advanced due to neglect"

Bozdaş said that his client, Alpsoy, was referred to the Tekirdağ 2 Numbered F Type prison after Sincan 2 Numbered F Type Prison after the July 15 US-backed coup attempt.

"Şeyhmus Alpsoy after transferred to Tekirdağ 2 Numbered F-Type Closed Prison, he was uttering us and to his family that he has some illness. The prison administration had rejected the request of Alpsoy to go to the hospital as a result his pains. There is intensity in infirmary a very serious way in the Tekirdağ Prison, you almost expect for 10-15 days to get to the infirmary. Şeyhmus Alpsoy has been a victim of this, and he has been seriously neglected to be taken to the hospital and to be taken to the revolver as a result of which he and his father have repeatedly kicked the room door. The results they were taken to the doctor in the hospital and had to be shown to the doctor, but unfortunately the officials at the hospital did not show his tomography results to the doctor. Which caused in the late diagnosis of some of the diagnoses. After a month passed, Alpsoy again his pains came and he was taken to the emergency. This time, with an operation, a portion of the intestine was removed from the body and a bag was attached to the body. After the other procedures in the hospital, the doctors gave Alpsoy a diagnosis of colon cancer. Alpsoy stated that to us and to his family that he had been suffering repeatedly until this stage and that the prison administration did not take him to the hospital and that he could not go to the doctor. Due to these negligence Alpsoy's disease is now advanced."

"It is not possible that this treatment to be in prison conditions"

Bozdaş emphasized that the execution should be stopped due to Alpsoy's illness, "Treatment of Şeyhmus Alpsoy should be continued in a full-fledged hospital because of his illness and it is not possible for this treatment to be in prison conditions. In there are some hospitals, there are rooms especially where such prisoners can stay. There is not too much disinfection and sterile environments for the treatment of Alpsoy even in this region. That’s why the execution of Şeyhmus Alpsoy needs to be stopped for a moment and that he should be treated in full-fledged hospitals.”

"We see that there are very serious neglects in Tekirdağ Prison both in the health and in other fields"

Bozdaş said, "I personally witnessed the complaints that my client has experienced. I unfortunately did not meet with the prison governor when I tried to meet with the prison administration related to these problems of my clients. I did not meet with the prison manager nor with the prison director's assistants but the execution guard officers met with me. I am sure that my clients have never been able to talk to anyone in any way for 6 months and neither a petition nor an answer has been given to any petition that he has written. But I also express the following painfulness: my client gave me greeting cards with postage stamps to be send to 50 places, I learned that none of them have reached their places. Even this shows that the administration of the prison has not even delivered a number of festive greetings and letters, which are sent by the clients, these are the expressions of my clients. We see that there are very serious neglects in Tekirdağ Prison both in health and other fields. We'll be followers of this. We will call our rights at law offices in line with the statements of our clients."

"Tekirdağ prison managers are responsible for Alpsoy's illness"

Bozdaş underlined that Tekirdağ prison administration is responsible for the progression of Şeyhmus Alpsoy's disease, "Because of the fact that the prison administration did not take Alpsoy to the hospital, they did not take him out the doctor, did not have the examinations and the examinations were not taken to the doctor or the doctor was not informed. The prison administrators and those involved are responsible for this discomfort, which should be handled both by administrative and judicial investigations."

70-years-old Father Alpsoy also extremely sick

Bozdaş said that the father, Mehmet Emin Alpsoy, who remained in the same prison with Şeyhmus Alpsoy, was in advanced age and was suffering from different diseases, said:

"Father Mehmet Emin Alpsoy is about 70- years-old. Unfortunately he is struggling with bone erosion and hepatitis B. He has difficulties in walking and he bent doubled when he come to us and go back. There are very strange situation especially in Tekirdağ Prison. He has been transported to Ankara Sincan Prison. We demand that the state of his health be reconsidered. He is under the influence of both old and other diseases."

"The most precious right of people to be protected by all contracts is the right to life"

Emphasizing that the prisons should not turn into torment homes, Bozdaş said: "Prisons should not be turned into torment homes. Health is a very human condition. No matter how this human condition is not neglected and whoever it is. Health conditions must be taken into consideration. Otherwise we will not be talking prison, we will be talking about torment homes.  This is also contrary to the Turkish Criminal Code, other related laws and the European Convention on Human Rights. Which is obviously related to the change of mindset. It is important that you see the prisons at this point. If you are going to see prisons, say those who got in there are worthy of evil and badness. If you can’t establish the right to life of people, you can’t speak about a social and constitutional state. If you cannot establish the right to life and you cannot talk about the social or law state anymore. Today our legal and judicial bodies must first protect the right to life of man. It must prevent the kind of issues to be experienced, at least evaluate the complaints made and punish those who have such negligence. Otherwise we will experience the repetitions of such events."

"The dismissing from profession or imprisonment of 2,000 judge and prosecutor is a sign that our judge has passed from negligence"

Bozdaş pointed out that Alpsoy is among the victims of the FETO judiciary whose thousands of members are in prison today, "There is a provision in the relevant articles of the criminal procedure laws that the decision of judge or the prosecutor can be seen again because of their criminal proceedings. Today, we have seen that FETO and other secret structures carried out serious pressures and result of this they performed heavy supported judgement with fake evidences and slanders. Hundreds of people are still in prison due to unjust jurisdiction. In the period of February 28, also tens of thousands of people have been investigated in this way. They have been prosecuted under the pretext that they are involved in several "terrorist organizations". If judicial and political authorities especially investigate these judgments seriously today, they will see how false judgments and prosecutions are taken by the judges and prosecutors. The fact that 2,000 Judges and prosecutors are taken from the office is the biggest proof of this. If 2 thousand judges and prosecutors are arrested in prison or if it has been exported from its profession, this judge has been seriously neglected, indicating that it has become a nest of terrorist organizations. Especially in political cases, the decisions made by these people must be reconsidered and the evidence of the files must be re-examined."

In 2000, Şeyhmus Alpsoy was arrested and sentenced to life imprisonment for his Islamic identity. Following the US-backed coup attempt on 15 July, Alpsoy, who was referred to the Tekirdağ Prison from Sincan Prison, where the putschists were brought intensively. His illness proceeded due to the negligence of prison administration. On Tuesday, January 10, the patient was taken to an intensive care unit, and Alpsoy was diagnosed with colon cancer. Alpsoy is currently being treated at Ankara Numune Hospital.

Musa Özer, Ahmet Şahin, Seyit Ali Demirkol, Cahit Durmaz and Hüseyin Akbalık, who have been convicted for unfair reasons for their Islamic identity in Turkiye and have suffered various diseases in prison, have lost their lives because they have not been treated at the time of the prisoner. Despite the claims of the families and public reactions, there is still no step towards sick prisoners.
