There wouldn’t be new Karbalas if we could take lessons from Karbala
“Just because Muslims didn’t take the necessary lesson from Karbala, the Islamic geography faces the same cruelty,” said Ittihad'ul Ulema [Union of Islamic Scholars] Deputy Chairman issued a message related to the Karbala Massacre anniversary.
Mulla Beşir Şimşek, Union of Scholars deputy chairman, who was in the explanation on the 1378th anniversary of the martyrdom of Huseyin, grandson of Prophet Muhammad, stated that new Karbalas are being experienced in the Islamic geography because not taking the necessary lesson from Karbala.
Indicating that the anniversary of the painful events in Karbala once again will be commemorated, Şimşek said: “As you know we are in the forbidden month of Muharram. It is a blessed month where Adam’s repentance was accepted, Noah's ship grounded on the Mount Cudi. It is the month where Imam Huseyin, son of Imam Ali and Fatima was martyred in a bloodthirstily way in this month along with his 72 family members by Yezid.”
“Each side of the Islamic world has been a Karbala”
Stating that two mentalities come to mind when Huseying was mentioned, Şimşek said, “When mentioned about Muharram 10, Ashura and Huseyin, two mentalities come to mind. One is the Yezidi mentality, and one other is the honorable stance and raise against persecution, injustice and all kind of ignorance. Unfortunately, because we have not understood the historical events that happened that day as an ummah because we couldn’t read properly, and we couldn’t analyze, today each part of the Islamic world has been a Karbala.”
“We need to further analyze Karbala”
Emphasizing that Muslims houses, lands set to fire today like the tent of Imam Huseying was set on fire that day, Şimşek said: “If we could read this properly if we could take the necessary lesson, so we wouldn’t leave our lands to persecutors, to Yezidis. We wouldn’t suffer that much if we could take lessons from that historical event. That’s why we need to read this historical event once again, we need to take lessons. If all Muslims do not have the Huseyin mentality, if they do not raise their head against persecution, persecutors, injustice, it seems that the Yezidi mentality will continue its persecutions.”
