"He was a guest to me one day. There were guests at my house when he arrived. My guest was extremely impressed by Yavuz's speech, saying, 'what a honey-tongued he has'.
Hasan Toprak underlined that any person who spoke to him loved Islam.
Bilal Erdal stated that he met Mehmet Yavuz at the time when we were teaching Qur'an lecture at the mosque after university. "In the 2000s, he was subjected to great torment for being in the Islamic cause. He and his family are people who have paid a price for Islam."

Saying that they have learned a lot from Mehmet Yavuz, Seçilmiş described Yavuz as: "He was a friend of ours who wasn't particularly shaken up in the prison process, who believed in his case and didn't give up the way he believed."
"In particular, was very good at worship and taqwa. He was reading too much. I started reading the Risale-i Nur encouraged by him.
Yavuz's illness began due to torture during the detention process, Seçilmiş noted. "After tortures in prison, he began to use medicines. After that, the disease appeared in his kidneys."
Seçilmiş said doctors said he suffered from severe strokes and a cold during prison process, which left him with kidney disease.
At the end of his worlds, Seçilmiş pointed out that Mehmet Yavuz was a person who understood the Qur'an. "I will bear witness that he was one of the person of faith, of the service."
