Turkey’s house sales rise by 7.6% in September

In September, 147 thousand 143 houses were sold in Turkey, the Turkish Statistical Institute said in a statement on Wednesday.

In Turkey, house sales increased by 7.6% in September compared to the same month of the previous year and became 147 thousand 143. İstanbul had the highest share with 19.2% and 28 thousand 229 house sales.

The followers of İstanbul were Ankara with 14 thousand 218 house sales and İzmir with 8 thousand 806 house sales with the share of 9.7% and 6.0% respectively. The provinces with the lowest number of sales were Hakkari with 14, Ardahan with 41 and Şırnak 78 house sales.

Houses sales decreased by 18.3% in January-September 2021

In the January-September period, house sales decreased by 18.3% compared to the same period of the previous year and became 949 thousand 138.

Mortgaged house sales became 29 thousand 759

In Turkey, mortgaged house sales decreased by 16.4% in September compared to the same month of the previous year and became 29 thousand 759. Mortgaged house sales had a 20.2% share of all house sales. In the January-September period, mortgaged house sales decreased by 64.3% compared to the same period of the previous year and became 181 thousand 855.

Other house sales became 117 thousand 384

In Turkey, other house sales increased by 16.0% in September compared to the same month of the previous year and became 117 thousand 384. Other house sales had a 79.8% share of all house sales. In the January-September period, other house sales increased by 17.6% compared to the same period of the previous year and became 767 thousand 283.

43 thousand 967 houses were sold for the first time

In Turkey, first-time house sales increased by 6.3% in September compared to the same month of the previous year and became 43 thousand 967. First-time sales had a 29.9% share of all house sales in Turkey. In the January-September period, first-time house sales decreased by 20.1% compared to the same period of the previous year and became 287 thousand 156.

Second-hand house sales became 103 thousand 176

In Turkey, second-hand house sales increased by 8.2% in September compared to the same month of the previous year and became 103 thousand 176. Second-hand sales had a 70.1% share of all house sales in Turkey. In the January-September period, second-hand house sales decreased by 17.5% compared to the same period of the previous year and became 661 thousand 982.

In September, 6 thousand 630 houses were sold to foreigners

House sales to foreigners increased by 25.8% in September compared to the same month of the previous year and became 6 thousand 630. House sales to foreigners had a 4.5% share of all house sales. İstanbul ranked first with 2 thousand 995 sales to foreigners. The followers of İstanbul were Antalya with a thousand 358 house sales and Ankara with 408 house sales to foreigners.

In the January-September period, house sales to foreigners increased by 43.2% compared to the same period of the previous year and became 37 thousand 479.

House sales were mostly made to Iran citizens according to nationalities

In September, Iran citizens bought a thousand 323 houses from Turkey. The followers of Iran citizens were Iraq with 990 house sales and Russia with 540 house sales.
