Turkiye’s Prime Minister Yıldırım: EP decision is invalid

Prime Minister Yıldırım, regarding the decision of the General Assembly in the EP General Assembly, said, “It is not a very important decision from our point. It is not an unknown too. This decision is invalid from our point.”

Emphasizing that the decision is not very important to them, Prime Minister Yıldırım said, “It is not an unknown too. Similar decisions have been made in the past months. This decision is invalid from our point.”

“Parliaments may make such decisions from time to time, but these decisions are taken according to the conjectural conditions at the initiative of MPs,” said Yıldırım, and added, “We are considering the issue is the thought of the EU administration. In other words, it is the thinking of the leaders of the EU countries, the opinion of the senior leadership. The will that will be there is binding for us, and we will reveal our own will. We know what we will do. EU should give up on confusion. All the conditions are present today to ensure that relations with Turkiye to be carried out on a more healthy ground. Instead of criticizing Turkiye, they should look at themselves. Turkiye has not lost anything from its vision of being a member of the EU family, but the EU is experiencing a confusion at this point.”

Yıldırım said, “Turkiye always has an option, it is not without an alternative. This also must be known. It should not be forgotten that the security of the EU starts from Turkiye. We are expecting everybody to act responsibly considering these facts. Turkiye is a country that contributes positively to the problems of its neighbors. It was the same before the EU process, it will be like that all the time.”
