Uighur Muslims are under political pressure and torture

The Communist Chinese government undertook political repression and torture of over one million Uighur Muslims under the name of "re-education" or "vocational training".

The US State Department announced that the human rights violations in China and the persecution of Uighur Muslims have continued.

Michael Kozak, head of the Department of Human Rights and Democracy at the US Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said, "Millions of people, putting them into camps, and torturing them, abusing them, and trying to basically erase their culture and their religion and so on from their DNA. It's just remarkably awful."

"It is one of the most serious human rights violations in the world today. But at least we are starting to make them realize there is a lot of international scrutiny on this," he said.

Stating that "China is in a league of its own when it comes to human rights violations, and some of the things that you mentioned that are documented in the report are part of that," Kozak said: "From Xinjiang, where you’ve got hundreds of thousands or millions of people in camps, to the treatment of Falun Gong, to house churches – I mean, you go across the board. And the situation in China has not gotten better, it’s gotten a lot worse over the last several years."

"So we’re trying through various means, including the report, to bring that out. We do raise these issues with the Chinese authorities when we see them, but getting them to take it seriously – I was comparing – the kind of dialogue we have with Georgia is – it’s very different than the kind of dialogue that you have with China on these issues."

"I think what we’re trying to do is just raise the level of attention to the issues, and it – that does have some effect, as I mentioned this morning."

It is known that the Beijing Administration is keeping over a million Uighur Muslim gatherings under the name of "re-education" or "vocational education" camps.

Those in these camps are forced to eat pork, drink alcohol and condemn the religion of Islam.
