President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a press conference at the Huber Mansion following the announcement of the people's vote.

President Erdoğan said, “I wish the results of the constitutional amendments made today to be beneficial for our country and our nation. Once again, the nationality expressed its view on the constitutional amendment which was adopted by the TBMM [Grand National Assembly of Turkiye] in a very exceptional, different maturity and went to the polls. Unofficial results show that constitutional amendments are accepted by about 25 million 'yes' votes. Regardless of the color of the ballots, I would like to express my gratitude to every member of my nationality who went to the polls.”

“The April 16th general election is an important indicator of the future of our nationality,” said President Erdoğan and continued, “Today, Turkiye has made a historic decision about the management system, a debate of 200 years. This decision is not an ordinary event. As always, it is easy for the people to defend the actual, it is difficult to defend the exchange. Thanks to Allah we have succeeded in this challenge and we are living the most important management reform of our history. Although the Constitutional amendment consists of only 18 articles, it shows a radical change in terms of its contents.”

“In the process of public referendum those who saying 'Yes' at the beginning or on the pool, I offer my gratitude for the confiding they found in me. Today, as I used to say, this change is not a random change. This is different and very meaningful. For the first time in Turkiye's history, the Parliament and the will of the nation have decided that such an important change in nationality. In the past, the determination of our constitutional and management system has been in the period of coups. For the first time, we are changing our management system through civilian politics. This change of course takes place with the constitutional amendment. With the Presidential Government System, executive, legislative and judiciary are completely separated from each other.”

President Erdoğan also emphasized that European countries should respect to the referendum decision. “Other countries should respect the decision of your nationality,” said Erdoğan
