We see every activity for Jerusalem as a step towards the unity of the Islamic World

HÜDA PAR Chairman İshak Sağlam has released a statement regarding the International Jerusalem Week, which is marked on March 8-14 over the call of the International Union for Islamic Scholars.

“Muslims, Christians, and Jews peacefully lived together in Jerusalem during the Muslim rule,” Sağlam stated and noted that Islam had ensured the freedom of belief and worship for the believers of all religions.

“Jerusalem, which had been captured by crusaders due to the unawareness of the Muslims, was liberated by Saladin after 88 years of captivity. The most important determinant in the reconquering of Jerusalem was the unity of Muslims. Today, it will be possible to liberate Jerusalem from Zionist occupation if we put aside our differences and unify around the goal of liberating Jerusalem,” Sağlam said.

“The zionists are desecrating the holy territories because about 2 billion Muslims in the world have fallen into dispute. Jerusalem and its surrounding area are sacred to Muslims. Even if thousands of years pass, Muslims will not give up the goal of liberating the Al-Aqsa Mosque. It is one of our most important tasks not to forget that Aqsa is under occupation and to inherit the struggle for this cause for future generations.”

Drawing attention to the importance of the International Jerusalem Week, Sağlam went on to say: “From this year onwards, the last week of Rajab month will be commemorated as the International Jerusalem Week. We see every effort for Jerusalem as an important step towards the unity of Islamic World.”

“I celebrate the holy night of Miraj of our nation and the Islamic world. I call upon almighty Allah to end the captivity of Jerusalem as soon as possible on the occasion of this night,” Sağlam concluded.
