Zahhar stressed during a speech at the Palestinian Legislative Council (Parliament) in Gaza on Sunday that the Moroccan regime's normalization with the Zionist occupation is a betrayal of the Palestinian people and their just cause.

He said that this normalization is also a betrayal of the Moroccan martyrs who defended the land of the Holy City and who built it until one of the Jerusalem neighborhoods and one of the gates of the Al-Aqsa Mosque were named after them. 

Zahhar saluted the Moroccan people and appreciated all the positions of the free people in Morocco, who expressed their absolute rejection of normalization with Israel.

He considered that normalization with the zionist regime as “a complete deviation by the normalizing regimes with the occupation from the values and constants of the Arab and Islamic nation.”

“Normalization is a reward for the zionist occupation for its crimes against the Palestinian people and its aggression against the nation. Israel exploits these deals to escalate its persistent aggression against Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa, confiscate land, establish settlements, arrest women and children, demolish homes and besiege the defenseless Palestinian people”, he underlined.

Zahhar appealed to the Moroccan people, with all its components and living forces, to actively confront the crime of normalization and not accept the cheap bargain that US President Donald Trump brought at the expense of the rights, constants and sanctities of the Muslim nation.

Furthermore, he urged the Muslim nation’s scholars to adopt a serious stand on the crime of normalization with the “chief enemy of the nation.”

He concluded the statement by saying, “Normalization with the occupier in exchange for forfeiting one of the Muslim nation’s sanctities is high treason and a crime against our religion and a political, human and moral crime aimed at liquidating the Palestinian cause and giving false legitimacy to the Zionist occupation of Jerusalem, Al-Aqsa and Palestine.”
