India's coronavirus death toll nears 145,000
342 more people have died from coronavirus over the past 24 hours in India, rising the country’s death toll from the virus to 144,829, the Health Ministry said.
The number of infections has reached 9,977,834, an increase of 26,762 cases in the last 24 hours.
9,520,044 patients suffering from the disease have been discharged from hospital after being cured.
According to Worldometer, a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, India is the second worst COVID-hit country in the world after the United States, surpassing Brazil.
