13 civilians killed in bomb explosion in southern Afghanistan

13 civilians, mostly children and women, were killed in an improvised bomb explosion in Afghanistan's southern Kandahar province on Friday.

According to the local sources, the explosion occurred when a mini bus came in contact with the improvised bomb explosion in the Loya Kariz area of Kandahar province.

No group has claimed the responsibility for the attack yet.

Since 2001 when the United States invaded Afghanistan, over 100,000 people have been killed in the war, including more than 4,000 ISAF soldiers and civilian contractors, more than 62,000 Afghan national security forces, 31,000 civilians and even more Taliban members.
