Brazil: The number of coronavirus cases reaches 1,972,072
1,261 more people have died from coronavirus n Brazil over the 24 hours, bringing the country’s death toll from the virus to 75,568.
The number of confirmed cases has reached 1,972,072 in Brazil, an increase of 39,705 cases in the last 24 hours.
While at least 8,318 patients are being treated in intensive care units, more than 1,255,564 patients suffering from coronavirus have fully recovered and been discharged from hospital.
Sao Paulo, the country’s most-populated state, continues to be the epicenter of the coronavirus pandemic in Brazil. The state has so far reported more than 393,000 confirmed coronavirus cases, with at least 18,640 deaths.
In order to support them in their fights against the pandemic, the Brazilian government has already distributed 163.3 million personal protective equipment and 6,549 ventilators to the states, the country's Health Ministry said.
