Çavuşoğlu offers condolences to Barzani on the passing of the Governor of Erbil
Turkey’s Foreign Ministry Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu held a phone conversation with Nechirvan Barzani, the president of Iraqi Kurdistan region, to offer his condolences over the death of the Governor of Erbil, Dr. Firsat Sofi.
“He also extended his deep condolences to Dr. Sofi’s family and relatives and expressed his sympathy for them,” Kurdistan presidency said in a statement.
Barzani thanked Turkey’s Foreign Minister for the phone call and his condolences.
Firsat Sofi, the governor of Erbil, died from coronavirus at a hospital in Ankara on Wednesday.
