Coronavirus in the US: The number of deaths reaches 53,266
The United States, the current epicenter of deadly coronavirus pandemic, has reported about 1,000,000 confirmed cases so far.
The U.S. has the highest death toll from coronavirus in the world, followed by Italy and Spain.
Until now, 118,162 patients suffering from the pandemic have recovered and been discharged from hospital in the country.
New York, which is being hit the hardest by the novel coronavirus in the U.S, has so far reported more than 288,313 confirmed cases, with at least 21,908 deaths.
On the other hand, despite warnings from health experts, some states began loosening the measures imposed to contain the spread of the coronavirus, allowing some shops to reopen.
According to Worldometer, a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, coronavirus pandemic has so far claimed the lives of at least 203,308 people across the world.
