Death toll from coronavirus outbreak in Iran reaches 1,556, with 20,610 infections
The number of confirmed cases has reached 20,610. Of those, 1,556 people have died so far, said Head of Iran's Health Ministry Public Relations Office Kianoush Jahanpour on Saturday.
Jahanpour said that 123 people have died from coronavirus in the last 24 hours, increasing the total number of the deaths in Iran to 1,556.
"966 new cases were confirmed with the coronavirus in the country in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 20,610," Jahanpour said.
"7,635 coronavirus patients have recovered and discharged from hospitals as of Friday," he added.
The number of people infected with Covid-19, which broke out in Wuhan, the capital of Hubei province in China, exceeded 272 thousand, more than 11 thousand 300 people lost their lives and more than 90 thousand 600 people recovered throughout the world.
