Germany to remove travel warning against Turkey soon

The Federal Government’s Commissioner for Tourism, Thomas Bareiß, said that there is growing opportunities for a repeal of the corona-related travel warning for Turkey.

“In addition to low infection rates, the Turkish health system can cope with virus outbreaks in such a way that holidaymakers return home healthy,” Thomas Bareiß said.

“Turkey must be judged in the same way as other holiday countries and treat each country fairly and equitably, “  he added.

On June 30, European Union gave approval to leisure or business travel from 14 countries beyond its borders.

The bloc has kept travel restrictions on Turkey even though most of its active coronavirus cases were discharged from hospitals following recovery.

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu accused the European Union of maintaining travel restrictions on Turkey for political reasons.
