Lewis Hamilton wins the Turkish GP to equal Michael Schumacher’s record

British racing driver Lewis Hamilton has won the Turkish GP to clinch his seventh F1 title, equalling Michael Schumacher's record.

Hamilton won the 2020 Formula 1 world title with victory in a wet and wild Turkish Grand Prix over Sergio Perez.

During the race, Max Verstappen was slow off the line and he dropped back. Lewis Hamilton dived down the inside of Daniel Ricciardo.

Ricciardo steered to avoid Hamilton but then hit his teammate Esteban Ocon. Valtteri Bottas spun trying to avoid Ocon.

Bottas and Ocon came together later in that same lap. In the early laps, the drivers started switching for inters. Sebastian Vettel had made up ground on the first lap as well.

Verstappen was trying to pass Sergio Perez for second but Verstappen went wide, spinning subsequently.

Hamilton made the right call to stay on his inters for more than fifty laps. Perez made that same call. Lance Stroll struggled hard on his new inters and the pole-sitter fell all the way down to 9th. Hamilton crossed the line in first, claiming his seventh world title in the process. On the last lap, Charles Leclerc lunged down the inside on Perez for 2nd. He went too deep and lost third to his teammate Vettel.

Hamilton's victory in Turkey saw him seal his seventh drivers' title, equaling Schumacher's record of seven World Championship victories.
