Spain’s death toll from coronavirus reaches 21,717
Spain reported 435 new deaths from coronavirus, taking the county’s death toll to 21,717.
The number of confirmed cases has been 208,389, an increase of 4,211 cases in the past 24 hours.
85,915 patients suffering from coronavirus have recovered and been discharged from hospital.
As a country with the second-highest coronavirus cases after the U.S., Spain has the third-highest number of deaths from coronavirus after the U.S. and Italy.
The actual number of cases, however, is likely to be much higher, as many people with only mild or no symptoms are unlikely to have been tested. The number of deceased is also believed to be an underestimate due to lack of testing and reporting in the country.
