The occupier US refers to Palestinians in Jerusalem as "Arab residents"
In its latest so-called human rights report released on Wednesday, the U.S. State Department referred to Palestinians living in eastern Jerusalem as "Arab residents" and "non-Israeli citizens, changing the traditional term "Palestinian residents".
The Palestinians in Jerusalem want to be known as Palestinian and see Jerusalem as the capital of Palestinian state forever.
The move comes after the Trump administration’s recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.
More than 340 thousand Palestinians and over 500 thousand Zionist occupiers live in East Jerusalem.
Criticizing the change in a statement on Twitter, Hannan Ashrawi, a senior Palestine Liberation Organisation official, said: "If the U.S. administration thinks that by erasing the word Palestinian it can eradicate us, our identity or our rights in Jerusalem, it is truly delusional—living in an alternative universe."
