In a statement posted on his Twitter account, Minister of Health Fahrettin Koca shared the latest official coronavirus figures in the country on Thursday.

According to the statement, the number of confirmed cases rose to 216,873, after 933 more people tested positive for the virus over the past 24 hours.

198,820 people have so far recovered and been discharged from hospital.

While 1,213 patients are in critical condition, there are some 394 patients who are mechanically ventilated.

4, 149,909 tests for coronavirus have so far been conducted to detect infections in the country.
