Turkey’s Presidential Cabinet convenes under President Erdoğan’s chairmanship

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan chaired via videoconference the meeting of the Presidential Cabinet at Huber Villa in Istanbul.

After the Cabinet meeting, which was held for the first time via video conference due to coronavirus pandemic, Erdogan is expected to make an “address to the nation”.

The coronavirus outbreak, which was first identified in Wuhan, Hubei, China, in December 2019, and was recognized as a pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO) on 11 March, was confirmed to have spread to Turkey when its first case was officially confirmed on 11 March 2020

The total number of confirmed coronavirus cases has until now reached 9,217, while 131 citizens have lost their lives and 105 patients have recovered, according to Turkish Health Minister.
