Yemen crisis is mostly affecting children

As the civil war, which marks 6 years with no end in sight, and the attacks of Saudi-led coalitions cause starvation in Yemen, the children are heavily being affected by the humanitarian plight in the country.

According to United Nation, more than 20,000 people have lost their lives since 2015 when Saudi-led coalition launched its attacks in the country with the support of the U.S., the UK and zionist occupation regime.

The embargo which imposed by Saudi-led coalition on Yemen has heavily affected critical infrastructures, especially hospitals, giving rise to spreading of many contagious diseases especially in the western parts of the country.

As the country’s health system in on the brink of collapse due to 6-year civil war, more than 3,3 million people have to live in schools and camps, where diseases such as cholera are spreading due to a shortage of clean water.

Millions of people are facing starvation in the country. Unfortunately, babies and children are the most affected.

One of those children is Masira Saqar Al-Huveyri, who was born 3 months ago.

Masira and others malnourished Yemeni children like her, who live in the affluent Arabian Peninsula, can't even open their mouths to eat while having trouble breathing in the arms of their parents.

Her grand mother said that she weighted only 2,4 kilogram due to malnourishment and suffered from brain atrophy, the loss of brain cells called neurons.

Noting that they need treatment, food and medicine, the grandmother said: This baby needs treatment, food and medicine. There are no drugs or medicines in the hospitals. We have to buy them abroad.”

The grandmother, who stated that her granddaughter would face death if the needs were not supplied, shows a great example of submission to Allah by saying that they praise Allah despite the troubles they are going through.
